Sitting Up (Almost)!

Katie is a few days away from her 6 month birthday (can you believe it!) and is just beginning to hit the big milestone for this age...sitting up unassisted! She can do it for maybe 30 seconds and then topples over. I caught this adorable shot of her right before she fell to the side. She's getting to be such a big girl and we are so proud of her every little achievement!

Aunt Leanne's Visit

My little sister, Leanne, has been one of Katie's biggest fans since before she was even born. When we told her I was pregnant she screamed and cried with joy. She loves Katie so much that she spent the night with us last week just to be here in the morning to watch Katie wake up (I must admit, she is awfully cute when she wakes up in the morning)! We had a great time grilling out on Friday night and then going for a walk and exploring the beautiful flowers and trees on Swarthmore's campus on Saturday. Thanks for being such a loving Aunt, Lea!

Katie has shown so much interest in our meals for the past few weeks that we decided to move things along a bit faster than we had originally planned and give her some solid food of her own! Her first non-liquid meal ever consisted of rice cereal, and she seemed to enjoy it. Maureen's sister Leanne has been visiting with us and it was fun to have her here for the festivities.

Teeth!

Katie got her first two teeth right around the time she turned 4 months old. As I mentioned in previous posts, I've had a hard time catching these teeth on camera because every time something comes close she grabs it and tries to put it in her mouth! Luckily, my sister Leanne managed to snap this photo. They don't look like much but boy do they hurt when she bites your finger!
